Panoptikum in Essen

Great rock pub with a good selection of drinks.

Somehow the Panoptikum delivers exactly what it promises in the name. Owner Thorsten unites, in the space available to him, pretty much everything you would expect at a pub. When there is no lockdown, you can enjoy various musicians on a small stage. Including one or the other (national) regional celebrity. With the same you can find yourself as a guest at the counter. There is a sizeable collection of popular (party) games and even a dart station. If none of this appeals to you, the Panoptikum will provide you with free WiFi. Musically, the store has a more rocking edge, which shouldn't stop you from wishing you a song. The sound literally makes the music. There is a regular LP evening that plays whatever vinyl has been brought along. There's a quiz every Monday. The questions vary from tough and specific to the general knowledge category. Since the owner himself studied history, the resolution in the end is always a good show. If the weather permits, the cozy beer garden of the "Pano" invites you to linger. There is another bar and a large grill. The shop's kitchen is small. Really really, really, really small. This sometimes results in slightly longer preparation times. It's not great as a guest. But you have to count on it. Then you can plan it in or simply order it in advance. The dishes are worth it. At fair prices, a wide variety of menus is offered that takes into account pretty much every food habit or restriction. So far I can't say anything negative about the food itself. It was really always first class. The premises are very clean and the facility is obviously well maintained. Of course you can see that the shop has been around for a while, but that is by no means negative. A 20-year-old counter can also have a repaired scratch :-) One last word about the team. All of them really polite, friendly and very committed. Above all, you can tell that they really have fun with each other and pull together.

The Panoptikum is a real pub where you can also eat well. On Tuesdays after the senior sport, my ladies (all around 80 years old) go there and drink 1-2 beers. The owner and the waiters are all very nice and accommodating. I can only recommend the Panoptikum.

Nice little pub in Essen. The prices are ok, but I'm disappointed with the burgers. Especially with see Flatrate, the meat often tastes like billo tk patties.

Top service, fair prices, great atmosphere, delicious food and drinks and great promotions / programs! Highly recommended! Come back!

Always worth a visit. Today we were in the small but nice beer garden for the first time. Nice that there is something right in the city center. Too bad there is no free radio.
